KAITLYN:
Kaitlyn started using a wheelchair in December 2010. Before her accident she loved playing many sports, running being her favorite. Kaitlyn met Katie, Chelsie and Mia at her first Abilities Expo 6 months after her injury and was inspired by them! They completely changed her opinion about dance and from that moment she never looked back. She was determined to maintain her active lifestyle so she made dancing her new favorite hobby and passion. She is living with 2 of the teammates in California and travels all around the U.S to share her story and dance her heart out with The Walk and Roll Foundation as a founding member in Team Hotwheelz.

KATIE:
Katie Estrella graduated High school at the top of her class and in the fall she will be attending Cal State University Fullerton as a freshman. She was injured at the age of 11 in a horseback riding accident which left her paralyzed from T7 down. Before her accident, horseback riding, dance, and soccer had been her whole life. So naturally after her accident she questioned how she would do the hobbies that she loved. Its been 6 years now, and she has discovered that she can do everything she used to do, but just a little bit differently. She still rides horses, dances, and plays sports such as sled hockey. Living with a disability she has realized that life has challenges, but its all about how you face those challenges that matters. Walk and Roll Foundation would like to congratulate Katie on becoming a founding member of Team HotWheelz.

MARIA:
As a L1 SCI Maria has found it amazing to be part of Team Hotwheelz and Walk and Roll Foundation because she says both have taught her that nothing will stop her. This is very important to her because she is newly injured and already able to do so much. The girls on the team have not only shared their passion of dancing with her since she used to cheer in high school but they have also showed her how to do more advanced things and that living a beautiful life does not stop when your legs stop. Walk and Roll has helped introduce her to the team as well as bring her to new opportunities that help push her to her dream of speaking about safe driving which you can learn more about by finding her in the Rally4Reality program.
